COMBINE AND SET ASIDE
1/2 C COCOA
1/2 C SUGAR
1/2 C BUTTERMILK
2 1/4 C SIFTED CAKE FLOUR
1 TSP BAKING SODA
1 TSP SALT
1 STICK MARGARINE
1 1/4 C SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 C MINUS 2 TBSP BUTTERMILK
1 TSP VANILLA

CREAM MARGARINE, ADD SUGAR THEN EGGS.
BEAT WELL.
COMBINE FLOUR, SODA, SALT. ADD FLOUR MIXTURE, ALTERNATING WITH MILK. ADD VANILLA AND COCOA MIXTURE.
BAKE 350 35 MINUTES 2 9 INCH LAYER PANS
FROST  WITH COCOA FROSTING.
